Tools can be accessed through the toolbar or through the Tools menu.

Brush tool

This tool allows to draw and paint on the layer in use. YoupiPaint provides a wide variety of pencils and brushes to simulate painting and drawing techniques.

Selection

The selection tool allows you to define an area of the drawing in order to restrict operations to this area.

Line tool

The line tool allows you to draw lines or polygons using the brush in use.

Shape tool

The shape tool allows you to draw shapes such as rectangles or ellipses and then fill and stroke them.

Fill tool

The fill tool allows you to fill areas of the same color as the selected color.

Magic wand selection tool  

The magic wand selection tool allows you to select areas of identical color.

Text tool

The text tool allows you to enter texts, format them and then integrate them into the drawing.

Gradient tool

The gradient tool allows you to define gradients from color points and then integrate them into the drawing.

Image tool

The image tool allows you to select image from a file or from the clipboard if it contains an image and then to integrate it into the drawing.

Color picker tool

The color pipette tool allows you to select the color of a point on the screen.

Symmetry tool

The symmetry tool allows you to draw in mirror mode from the definition of symmetry axes.

Grid tool

The grid tool displays a grid on the canvas.

Perspective tool

The Perspective tool lets you display vanishing points and lines to make it easier to draw perspectives.

Comic strip tool

This tool allows you to draw Comic strip frames.

Ruler tool

This tool makes it possible to draw lines parallel to a direction.
